OKEA ASA has extended its frame agreement with CCB Subsea by a further four years. The agreement continues the operation of the subsea workshop at Vestbase in Kristiansund and facilitates the continued development of local capacity and expertise related to OKEA’s subsea activities. The frame agreement also allows CCB Subsea to assist with selected maintenance, workshop and support services for subsea equipment as required.

Subsea workshop at Vestbase

The original frame agreement was awarded to CCB Subsea in 2021. Following a successful two-year trial period operating the OKEA subsea workshop, located at Vestbase Kristiansund, CCB Subsea is now taking over operational responsibility for the workshop for a contract period running until 2030.

During the trial period, CCB Subsea has established a strong organization at Vestbase and grown from no employees to a team of 15. Through close cooperation with several operators, system suppliers and contractors, the company offers rapid response and cost-efficient subsea services to customers out of Kristiansund.

With support from the engineering team and the specialists at the head office at Ågotnes, CCB Subsea can handle complex technical challenges and deliver complete solutions to OKEA throughout the entire life cycle of the equipment.

Confidence in the local model

The extension represents an important vote of confidence from OKEA and confirms the value of the expertise and capacity that have been built up locally in Kristiansund.

«This extension is first and foremost a vote of confidence in our team in Kristiansund. In a short time, we have built up a strong team of specialists delivering services of high quality, safety and efficiency. At the same time, the agreement facilitates a local, system-independent model in which we can support several operators and system suppliers from the same base/existing facilities,» says Cecilie Sælen, CEO of CCB Subsea.

The model contributes to more sustainable operations through better utilization of local capacity, reduced transport needs and lower total costs for the industry.

«We greatly appreciate the trust OKEA has placed in us and look forward to continuing our good cooperation. Together, we will contribute to safe, efficient and sustainable subsea operations in the years to come,» says Sælen.
