CCB today announces a significant new call-off on the framework agreement with Equinor; contract for construction of well structure for drilling on a marginal prospect with the plan that the well structure can be used further as a production well, given a viable discovery.
The structure, called CAP-X, will be built in collaboration with the Kimek shipyard in Kirkenes, where several projects are already underway for Equinor with the construction of well structures for exploration drilling.
Marginal fields
There are still many identified discoveries and promising prospects on the NCS, but many of these have small volumes. Equinor has developed solutions for marginal field developments that will provide significant improvements in cost efficiency, flexibility and installation simplification for subsea wells that are tied-in to existing platforms.
«We are very happy about this award from Equinor, and very pleased to contribute as a supplier to their new concept for the development of marginal field developments», says Cecilie Sælen, CEO of CCB Subsea.
Cooperation
Since 2017, CCB Subsea has collaborated with Kimek in Kirkenes in the delivery of well structures to Equinor.
«We are proud to continue this collaboration with both Equinor and Kimek now on new concepts with a further focus on quality, HSE and competitive prices. We see that the collaboration has contributed to positive effects for suppliers in Northern Norway and value creation locally in Kirkenes,» says Sælen.
Greger Mannsverk, CEO of Kimek, adds: «We greatly appreciate CCB Subsea and Equinor’s understanding of how important it is that the industry uses suppliers across the country. This bodes well for the supplier industry in the north in the future. We look forward to the continuation.”
